Before joining Coffey Modica, Thomas held positions as a lead resolution specialist and then as a claim team lead. As team lead, he managed up to eight resolution managers while handling the full lifecycle of assigned claims. His responsibilities included analyzing coverage, determining defense obligations, investigating claims to assess exposure, preparing reservation of rights and denial letters, negotiating settlements, and interacting with multiple parties involved in each claim. Additionally, he meticulously prepared reserves and settlement authority requests for clients and carriers.

Earlier in his career, Thomas operated his own practice, providing outside counsel services for asbestos-related claims and handling various legal matters ranging from personal injury cases to real estate transactions.

Before establishing his practice, Thomas honed his legal skills as a managing attorney and associate, overseeing personal injury lawsuits, arguing motions, conducting depositions, and providing expert legal analysis to insurance carriers. He also served as a branch office manager, supervising legal and administrative operations.

Thomas began his career as an associate in general practice areas, including real estate transactions, estate planning, and commercial law.
