Overview

Prior to joining Coffey Modica, James gained significant experience working as an associate at two national defense firms, where he represented insureds for national insurance clients across a wide range of civil litigation matters. His work involved developing and executing comprehensive litigation strategies, conducting risk assessments, and advising clients on complex legal issues. James managed cases through all stages of litigation, from the initial drafting of pleadings to conducting detailed discovery, negotiating settlements, and arguing motions before the court. He has successfully argued cases in every venue in New York City and North Jersey.

Earlier in his career, James honed his litigation skills in both state and federal courts, where he handled a diverse array of cases. His practice included private defense work in criminal cases, as well as complex litigation involving personal injury, civil rights, and employment law. This experience provided him with a robust foundation for defending clients in high-stakes litigation and navigating intricate legal landscapes.
