With 35 years of practice primarily focused on insurance defense, Michael is called upon by the largest insurers and excess insurers to handle complex, high-exposure personal injury and property damage cases. Prior to joining CMO, Michael served as a partner at a national defense firm for 21 years and, before that, was named in-house counsel for a national insurance company. These decades of experience allow him to intimately understand his clients’ internal procedures and challenges and implement the most efficient processes in all his cases.

He has successfully litigated and tried some of the most notable fire and explosion, product liability, premises liability, and construction accident cases. His ability to select and connect with jurors and make complex facts understandable contributes to his success in the courtroom. In addition, he prioritizes the interests of his clients above all else, frequently attending site visits and working closely with experts to preserve evidence to put forth the best possible litigation strategy.

Michael is considered a leader in his areas of practice and is often called on to speak at conferences, CLEs, and directly to clients. He has been featured in numerous leading industry publications, hosted the first-ever lecture on fires and explosions for the New York State Bar Association, and was a contributing author to the Construction Site Personal Injury Litigation, New York Labor Law sections 200, 240(1) and 241(6) text published by the NYSBA.
