Before joining Coffey Modica, Sophie represented doctors, hospitals, healthcare systems and other medical professionals in medical defense and general liability matters. She honed her skills drafting discovery demands and responses, conducting and analyzing legal research, and conducting depositions. She has made court appearances for preliminary, compliance, status, and settlement conferences.

Earlier in her career, Sophie worked in the New York State Unified Court System. She served as senior associate representing clients with mental health diagnosis, developmental disabilities, and guardianship, before serving in a volunteer role of arbitrator for the New York State Unified Court System, where she conducted hearings, reviewed evidence, awarded damages/ compensation, and assessed compounded interest.

Her diverse legal experience also includes two years as an agency attorney for the New York City Commission on Human Rights, where she investigated and enforced claims of discrimination, conducted intakes, drafted complaints and subpoenas, interviewed parties, and drafted determinations, orders, and financial decisions.

Sophie earned her LL.B (Hons) (JD. equivalent) from Coventry University in the United Kingdom, where she received honors for Debater, Advocacy of Rights and Mooting. She also completed a Foundation Course in Law and Practice from Coventry University.

She is admitted to practice in the New York State Bar, 1st Department.
