Overview
Robert brings decades of hands-on litigation experience, having managed all phases of the legal process—from initial pleadings and discovery through depositions, motion practice, and trial. He has served as lead counsel in numerous jury and bench trials, arbitrations, and mediations, and is highly skilled in negotiating favorable settlements and crafting effective appellate arguments. His practical, results-driven approach is grounded in thorough case analysis and strategic advocacy.
Prior to joining Pillinger Miller Tarallo, LLP as a Partner, Robert served as a Senior Trial Attorney with Zurich North America, where he handled high-exposure matters through all stages of litigation, including appeals. He also held leadership roles in private practice, including serving as Managing Attorney of the Hudson Valley office at McCabe, Collins, McGeough, Fowler, Levine & Nogan, LLP, where he supervised legal staff and directed regional case strategy.
Earlier in his career, Robert spent over a decade with Wilson, Bave, Conboy, Cozza & Couzens, P.C., where he developed a strong foundation in insurance defense and trial advocacy, taking on significant first-chair responsibilities.
In addition to his legal practice, Robert has contributed to the legal and academic communities as a guest lecturer on trial advocacy and organizational leadership, and as an adjunct professor. He is also a licensed real estate broker in New York.
Robert earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Pace University School of Law, where he was a Ranking Scholar and Dean’s List honoree. He received his Bachelor of Science, summa cum laude, from Mercy College, and his Associate of Applied Science, summa cum laude, from SUNY Westchester Community College.
He is admitted to practice in New York and Connecticut, as well as before the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
