Overview
Before joining Coffey Modica, Michael was a partner at an established New York law firm, where he defended insurance companies and their insureds from inception through trial.
Michael’s career spans over two decades, during which he has held positions at several prominent law firms. His experience includes representing insurance carriers and their insureds in construction site accident claims alleging violations of New York Labor Law (sections 240, 241(6), and 200), motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, products liability, declaratory judgment actions, commercial litigation, and subrogation actions.
Michael is known for his attention to detail and ability to build lasting client relationships. He understands that his clients come first, and that their individual needs, concerns, and objectives are the most important details in every matter he handles. He also understands that being involved in litigation, for a plaintiff or a defendant, is stressful, but that does not mean litigation needs to be unnecessarily combative to result in a positive outcome. In this regard, he has successfully managed complex cases from inception through trial, including conducting depositions, negotiating settlements at mediation and appellate practice, and delivering compelling courtroom presentations.
