Overview

Evan’s practice encompasses insurance coverage, professional liability, construction defect, general liability, and complex commercial claims. He has represented insurance carriers and their insureds in matters ranging from construction site accidents alleging violations of New York Labor Law (sections 240, 241(6), and 200) to motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, products liability, declaratory judgment actions, commercial litigation, and subrogation actions.

Before joining Coffey Modica, Evan was a partner at an established New York law firm, where he defended insurance companies and their insureds from inception through jury verdict. His career also includes serving as an assistant district attorney at the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office, where he prosecuted cases involving sex crimes, domestic violence, child abuse, elder abuse, and animal abuse. This prosecutorial background provided him with valuable trial skills and a strong foundation in criminal law.

Evan’s professional experience extends beyond litigation. Earlier in his career, he worked as a labor relations specialist for CSEA AFSCME AFL-CIO, where he negotiated employment contracts for public employee unions and represented union members in disciplinary hearings and arbitrations.

As Managing Partner, Evan is focused on expanding Coffey Modica’s presence in Georgia while upholding the firm’s commitment to excellence and client service across all practice areas. He collaborates closely with colleagues in the firm’s other offices to provide seamless, coordinated representation to clients with multi-jurisdictional needs.
