Josue Dorleus is Counsel in the firm’s New York City office, where he represents clients in a wide range of disputes within the firm’s general liability and construction litigation practice groups. Josue handles cases from inception to final resolution.

Overview
Before joining the firm, Josue worked at a regional litigation firm handling complex construction and premises liability matters. Earlier in his career, he served as an Assistant and Principal Law Clerk to the Honorable Justice Paul Wooten of the New York State Supreme Court, IAS Part 97, where he assisted in drafting judicial decisions and managing high-volume civil calendars. He also prosecuted abuse and neglect cases on behalf of the New York City Administration for Children’s Services (ACS), gaining valuable courtroom experience and trial preparation skills.
In addition to his litigation background, Josue has served as Assistant General Counsel to a real estate investment and property management group, managing multi-state litigation, drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, and advising executives on compliance and risk mitigation. Josue also successfully represented national banks, fintech, and auto financing companies in cases involving the FDCPA, FCRA, TCPA, and other regulatory frameworks. He handled all aspects of litigation in state and federal court, including discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediations, and trial preparation.
Josue earned his J.D. from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University, where he served on the Moot Court Board and was selected as a New York City Bar Fellow. He is admitted to practice in New York and Texas, as well as before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the Southern, Eastern, and Northern Districts of Texas.
Josue has been recognized as a New York Metro Super Lawyers Rising Star from 2016 through 2025. Outside of work, he enjoys exploring artistic expression and is an avid jazz enthusiast.
